Importance of Non-Scale Victories

There are so many things that go into what the scale says. So it's very important that you also include non-scale victories as a part of your success journey. This way you can, one, see if you're making progress, and two, truly be able to focus on more than just what the scale says. 

How are you feeling? 

Are your clothes fitting better? 

Are you going up and down the stairs better? 

Do you feel happier? 

Is your energy improving?

Are you sleeping better? 

Remember, everyone first starts with day one. For example, when I started my journey, I was not in the position I am right now. I have truly built up to this because  I have been doing this for years.

Everyone's journey looks different. 

Quick fixes DO NOT work, and  the diet industry has done its best to brainwash us, making it difficult for us to set realistic expectations. 

For example, it's not normal to lose 10 pounds in two weeks. If you're seeing slow, steady progress from week to week, you're on the right track. 

Always make sure you're looking at that bigger picture.

Remember it's all-in, not all or nothing. All or nothing goes well with crash dieting, you're either on plan or you're off plan, everything is either black or white. All-in is staying committed to the process, regardless of the number on the scale.


To help set realistic goals, work with a coach preferably someone who is  an expert in sustainable weight loss. Write down three to five specific, measurable, and realistic goals that you want to accomplish over the next six weeks. Then, map  out an action plan with your coach, so you can start taking action and moving in the right direction. 

Remember to include some non-scale victories and  goals as well!   

Don't expect this to be just easy, smooth sailing, because weight loss is hard. I want to help normalize the struggle...you’re not failing if you feel like weight loss is hard. 

Remember, as you are going through your days, the small things do add up, and have a cumulative effect on your results. Keep showing up consistently, taking action, trusting the process, and don’t forget to focus on more than the number on the scale. You will reach your goals, and sometimes zooming out, detaching from the scale, and focusing on your habits is what will create the real transformation.
