If you don't like animal-based protein, try this instead!

Let’s talk about alternate protein sources if you’re not a big fan of animal protein…

๐—ฃ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ถ๐—ป is the most ๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜‚๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ and is essential for proper metabolic health, hormonal health, and goes a long way toward building muscle mass.โฃ

One of the first things I tackle with all new clients is making sure they are eating enough protein.โฃ

Most women aren't eating enough protein and are consuming far too many processed carbohydrates.

A low protein, high sugar, highly processed food diet will leave you feeling tired, sluggish, HANGRY, and will ultimately contribute to weight gain and increased body fat.โฃ

Getting an adequate amount of protein is an essential piece to the fat loss puzzle. 

However, if you're not a fan of animal protein, it may feel pretty challenging for you to actually eat enough protein throughout the day.โฃ

While it may take a little more effort for you to hit your protein goal if you’re also avoiding animal-based protein sources, I’m here to tell you it is 100% possible!

๐—ง๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ถ๐—ณ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ผ๐˜€๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—น๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ถ๐˜ ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ผ๐—ถ๐—ฑ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜€:โฃ

  • Watch out for the highly processed carbs that contain protein. Avoid the vegan mac n cheeses out of a box, premade meals that are loaded with chemicals, and dairy-free yogurts that are loaded with sugar
  • Make sure you're supplementing with Vitamin B12 and Ironโฃ
  • Make sure you're getting plenty of Omega 3’s either through your food or a supplement โฃ
  • Make sure your overall nutrition plan is balanced with proper macro and micronutrients.โฃ

โฃIf you’re struggling to find alternate protein options, refer to my list above for some great alternatives . โฃโฃ

If you’re comfortable with eating eggs and dairy, you can get plenty of protein from yogurt (especially Greek yogurt), cottage cheese, and whey protein powders.โฃ

If you’re avoiding dairy, eggs, meats, and seafood, rely on high protein veggie burgers, plant-based protein powders, lentils, beans, and some of my other options above.โฃ
